Gaining Wisdom Through Quran
Most of us Muslims wrongly believe that just by keeping and learning to read Quran, they can fulfill their religious duties and responsibilities. The basic theme of The Holy Book is embedded in recognizing and acting upon its verses in an appropriate manner. How can one complete its faith by just believing in Islamic teachings, but using them in the wrong way? It means that one has not completely interpreted the meaning of Quranic wordings, e.g. those Muslims who are joining so called Islamic forces like ISIS, Talibans etc. in the name of Jihad, and who actually kill innocents more than the tyrants, then there is no way that they have the complete understanding and insight of this religion.
Now, talking about Furqan e Hameed, and its life changing verses, common belief is that the one who learns it by heart will enter Jannah along with its parents, while the correct meaning of it this Hadith is that the Hafiz (learner) of Quran should also act upon its lessons. Unfortunately, we, Muslims have left comprehending and carry out our lives according to lectures of this Book, which is why we are left behind other nations. Allah Almighty has blessed us with golden pearls in the form of Quran`s verses, so that we could get enlightenment from them, and transform our lives in the best way. Following are some of the many messages of this Sanctified Manuscript, through which we can seek wisdom.
Avoiding ambiguous matters
“A little knowledge is dangerous” is a famous expression, which compels one not to indulge in things which it has insufficient understanding of, because sooner or later, the situation would turn very dangerous for that person. Islam also forbids us from such issues, which are not clear to us. The Gracious God has warned us about this matter in The Holy Quran as:
“And do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Indeed, the hearing, the sight and the heart – about all those [one] will be questioned.” [Quran, 17: 36]
This is what we should keep in mind before talking about matters in our Deen (religion), before completely understanding about them. On a general note, we should also avoid going towards uncertain affairs like Gambling, which is prohibited in Islam, because it has no sure result.
Reflecting on one`s existence
The non believers, especially, Athiests, who even deny the existence of Almighty Lord, do not think about how we come in to life. Allah clearly says in Quran many times that He has created individuals and is capable of producing them again.
“From the earth, We created you, and into it We will return you, and from it, We will extract you another time.” [Quran, 20: 55]
Science has also proved that human body consists of many of elements found in the earth soil, and as The Holy Quran has says that we have been made from earth, it also means the same thing. There are many other scientific researches, which prove the correctness of Quranic verses and things, which no one had ever knowledge of before.
Seeking help through patience and determination
Ups and downs are a part of life: we are all familiar with a common saying “there is always light at the end of tunnel”, which actually refers to one`s willpower to remain steadfast during hardships. Quran also lays great emphasis on this issue by addressing us on numerous occasions, and has compared endurance to God`s help and likeness.
“And seek help through patience and prayer, and indeed, it is difficult except for the humbly submissive (to Allah).” [Quran, 2: 45]
No doubt, a believer gets Allah`s assistance in solving its matters through prayers and perseverance, but most of us are often mislead by thinking that only remaining calm is enough, but in fact, we have to keep working hard for betterment of our condition. When we show persistence, try hard and pray to Lord, only then, it will be united with Allah`s support to make us go through hardships.
Praying for Allah`s consistent guidance
No matter how much knowledge and abilities one possesses, there come times when things start to get tougher, and then it looks for someone`s help in this regard. There is always a need for consistency in every kind of avenue, and once one gets deviated from the right path, it becomes very difficult to get back on track. Same applies to Muslim`s life, who believes in Allah, but often gets distracted by Satanic thoughts. That is the reason why Quran has repeatedly emphasized on looking for The Almighty`s supervision to remain on the right pathway.
“[Who say], “Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower.” [Quran, 3: 8]
This Ayah Kareema not only directs to ask God for granting us with His help, but most of us only pray when we are going through bad times, instead we should plead to Him all the time even if everything is rosy, so that things may remain as bright as they are at present.
Repenting on one`s sins
Everyone commits sins in their life. Sin is undoubtedly a highly hated matter, but not being sorry for such deeds is even more disliked action near to God Almighty. He repeatedly reminds its believers in the Holy Quran to ask for their forgiveness from Him, for He is the most Merciful.
He said, “My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, so forgive me,” and He forgave him. Indeed, He is the Forgiving, the Merciful. [Quran, 28: 16]
The above Quranic verse points towards the incident when Moses (A.S) killed someone from the other group, who was quarrelling with a person from His faction, but soon realized and repented on His action and regarded it as a satanic deed. But when he prayed to Allah for pardon, He was forgiven by The Most Gracious. So, we should also feel remorseful at wrong doings, and beg for God`s pardon.
So, while reading Quran, jumping to conclusions must be avoided, rather we should strive for gaining the true wisdom from it. May Allah Almighty give us all strength to read, comprehend and act upon Quran in the way as it demands from us! Aameen!
